The Hancock County Fair is fast approaching! The Cory-Rawson Food Tent has been a fundraising effort for our Athletic and Music Boosters for longer than many of us can remember! Profits from the food tent go directly towards our student athletic and musical programs. In the past, our student athletes and musicians have solicited donations door-to-door. Providing donations of cash, pies and/or help in working a shift at the fair tent is one way the community can get involved for Cory-Rawson Schools. Without your support, our fair tent is not a successful endeavor and our programs do not benefit from this fundraising effort. A new approach for 2007 solicitation will be in the form of this letter to all households in the district. Please take a moment and see how you can make a difference in our community!
In recent years, we have had a much less favorable response to our solicitation night. We understand that parents and community members are very busy people. Perhaps some are attending ball games or working late on the night the students solicit donations. Perhaps some just don’t want to be bothered at the front door after work. Some of you may not realize this event even took place in the past because you are new to our area.
Our goal for this year is to raise $1500 by August 14 2009. This helps us offset the cost of start up for the Fair Tent. If you would be willing to help our athletes and musicians for the Hancock County Fair, please fill out the bottom portion of this letter and return to one of the following volunteers by August 14 2009. Your help is very much appreciated!
Sincerely,
The Cory-Rawson
